Alloy 347/347H Pipe & Fittings

Alloy 347H Pipe & Fittings

Alloy 347H (UNS S3409) Applications

Alloy 347/347H stainless steel is common in the petroleum refining industries. Alloy 347/347H stainless steel is used to make radiant superheaters, boiler tubes, high-pressure steam pipes, and general refinery piping. They are also used for heavy-duty exhaust systems and manifolds.

Alloy 347/347H Properties

Alloy 347/347H stainless steel is austenitic stainless steel that contains stabilizing elements. This alloy is easily welded. Annealing may not be required after welding unless stress relief is desired. Alloy 347 stainless steel has excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion. With high creep strength, Alloy 347 stainless steel works best up to 1600 °F. The addition of columbium plus tantalum in Alloy 347/347H stainless steel gives some desired characteristics like:

  • Reduced embrittlement in the HAZ of the weld area
  • Prevents harmful carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) of the weld area
  • Imparts substantial immunity to intergranular corrosion

Alloy 200/201 Pipe & Fittings

Nickel 200 (UNS  NO2200) is commercially pure (99.6%) wrought nickel. It has excellent mechanical properties and is highly resistant in myriad corrosive environments. Both Nickel 200 and 201 are approved for construction of pressure vessels and components under ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, Division 1. Nickel 200 can be used to reduce the development of passive oxide films in highly oxidative media.

Ways To Use Alloy 20 Nickel Piping

Incoloy® Alloy 20 (UNS N08020) is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium Alloy with additions of copper and molybdenum. The nickel content makes Alloy 20 resistant to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. Copper and molybdenum give resistance to reducing environments. The molybdenum content also provides good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.
